Chief Tyler Payne

Where are you from?
Spring Creek, Pennsylvania
Why OCU?
“After separating from the U.S. Marine Corps I felt God calling me to a life in the ministry. I wasn’t sure where to go or what to do but I persisted in praying for guidance and was led here. Coincidentally my wife (fiancée at the time) was led to transfer from Youngstown State University to OCU and we were able to move down here and attend school together. After coming here I found an organization that places God at the forefront of everything they do and emphasizes Christian servanthood in daily life.” Where did you go to school and what is your degree in?
Ohio Christian University, B.A. Criminal Justice (In progress) About Yourself “I have an amazing wife, Emily, and three fantastic little boys, Everett, Jackson, and Forrest. I have worked for the University Security Department since April 2010 and have been the Chief since April 2012. Before coming to the University I was an infantry non-commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps from 2005-2009. I served combat tours in both Afghanistan and Iraq and was stationed in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii when not deployed. I enjoy hunting, spending time with my wife and sons, reading, and investing time and energy into my church.”
